The Indonesia Travel and Tourism Awards 2012/13 features an extraordinary list of travel brands from across the Indonesian tourism industry. The quality and creativity of entries was outstanding, particularly the innovation in services and performances across all categories. After going through an online voting, the Board of Advisors organized several executive meetings and finally the decisions were made.

The SmartTravelAsia.com 2012 BEST IN TRAVEL POLL - now in its eighth year - is a distillation of our readers' perceptions and favourite travel brands. Their vote is based on substantial hands-on travel experience, word-of-mouth at dinnertime chats, as well as an idea of the brand drawn from advertising and editorial exposure in the media, a great deal of this online. Our poll ran for three key months May-July. There was no incredible premium. Who were these voters? On average, voters took 16.22 air trips (up from 15.75) over the past 12 months and earned US$162,134 in household income (up modestly from US$156,716 in 2011).

Superior Deluxe, Hotel Travel & Index's highest classification, is reserved for those hotels around the world capable of delivering a perfect 10 to their guests in every way. This year only 106 hotels made the grade. The St. Regis Bali Resort has been selected among them and made it the only resort in Indonesia to win this award.

Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections that are appropriate compliments to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. The strict criteria to qualify for an award includes presenting a complete wine list with accurate wine information, including vintages and appellations for all selections as well as wines available by the glass. Complete producer names and correct spellings are mandatory and overall presentation and appearance of the list is also taken into consideration.
For the 1st 2 years since opening, KAYUPUTI was honoured with ‘Award of Excellent’. Receiving ‘Best of Award of Excellence’ for the last 2 years is making it the first and only restaurant in the whole of Indonesia to win this coveted award. As for Chief Sommelier Harald Wiesmann, he reaps this prestigious award for the tenth time. And having received the award from Wine Spectator over recent years. Harald is positioning Bali and Indonesia in the world map as a destination for fine wines and cuisine.

The Prestigious Salon Culinaire Bali 2012 is a member of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), attracting the top Chefs, Judges and Culinary professionals from Bali, Jakarta and around Indonesia.
The event is held bi-annually in Nusa Dua in conjunction with the esteemed Food Hotel Tourism Exhibition and took place at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center on the 1st through the 3rd of March 2012. The objective of the Salon Culinaire is to foster, improve and showcase the creative talent amongst the culinary professionals within Indonesia. The competition features many categories including Pastry Plated Desserts, Sugar or Chocolate Pastry Show Piece, Tapas, Brunch Plates, Individual and Team Hot Cooking Meat Dish, Petits Fours, Individual Indonesian Family Style, Fruit Carving and Table Set-Up.

Established 17 years ago, The International Hotels Awards, in association with Bloomberg Television, seeks the finest operations throughout a wide range of areas to identify, highlight and reward excellence throughout the global hospitality industry. The St. Regis Bali Resort received the Best Resort Hotel in Asia Pacific in May 2012 and in having won this five star award, the resort represented Asia Pacific in this category at the International Hotel Awards and competed against other winning companies from Europe, Africa, the Americas and Arabia to win in the ultimate World’s Best held in the UK.
ASEAN GREEN HOTEL RECOGNITION AWARD 2012 (January)
ASEAN Green Hotel Standard is one of the six ASEAN Tourism Standards that the ten ASEAN Member States have considered essential for helping ASEAN to be a Quality Single Destination. One measure in the Roadmap for integration of Tourism Sector to realize the ASEAN Economic Community is the establishment of the ASEAN Tourism Standards. An ASEAN Green Hotel is a hotel which is environmentally friendly and adopts energy conservation measures.

The National Green Hotel Award is given by the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry of Indonesia to hotels that have shown care and responsibility for the environment and society, with the objective of reaching a sustainable development-oriented tourism industry.
