In 1934, bartender Fernand Petiot arrived at The St. Regis New York, bringing with him the recipe for a unique vodka and tomato juice cocktail that he perfected at the King Cole Bar. An Uncompromising Evening with Chateau Grand Mayne and its Spectacular St. Emilion, Bordeaux

A name perfectly describing the "manor" of this fine Bordeaux wine estate. The vineyard lies to the west of St. Émilion, at the foot of the plateau. The terroir tends to be one of clay and limestone on the southwest facing slopes, with a few vines on more sandy soils at the base. Chateau Grand Mayne is 19 hectares altogether. This magnificent Bordeaux wine vineyard is planted to 76% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 11% Cabernet Sauvignon at an average of 30 years. The vines are planted to an average density of 5,500 vines per hectare.
Of the utmost importance to this vineyard is that 17 of these hectares are planted in a single block which qualifies this Saint Émilion Grand Cru for the distinguished Grand Cru Classé Classification. A distinguishment that the house of Madame Marie-Francoise Nony and her two sons Jean Antoine and Damien, as the third generation since 1934, proudly bear.
